Funding Phases

Phase I

Feasibility research, typically 6–12 months. Award size is set per solicitation — check the listing for current figures.

Phase II

Full development, typically up to 2 years. Only Phase I awardees (or those with equivalent feasibility data) are eligible.

Phase III

Commercialization, funded through non-SBIR/STTR sources (private capital or follow-on government contracts).
